The main difference is that the Ten Outstanding Penang Youth Award is specifically for Penang citizens / voters only, whereas the Ten Outstanding Young Malaysian Award is open to young Malaysians from all states. The award is hosted once every two years, unlike the annual Ten Outstanding Young Malaysians Award. It is serve distinct purposes and cater to different groups. It is crucial to understand that the Ten Outstanding Penang Youth Award is exclusively for individuals who either reside in Penang or are registered voters in Penang. This award specifically recognizes the remarkable achievements and contributions of Penang's youth in their respective fields or communities. Inspired by the Ten Outstanding Young Malaysians Award, the Ten Outstanding Penang Youth Award was established with a twofold aim. Firstly, it seeks to honor and motivate young individuals in Penang who have made significant strides in their areas of expertise or have positively impacted their community. Secondly, this award acts as a stepping stone for Penang's youth, as top 3 winners from this awards are given the sponsorship to participate in the Ten Outstanding Young Malaysians Award. By doing so, the Ten Outstanding Penang Youth Award not only celebrates the accomplishments of young individuals in Penang but also encourages broader participation in the national-level Ten Outstanding Young Malaysians Award. This initiative fosters a spirit of excellence among the youth of Penang, providing them with a platform to shine both locally and nationally
